Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar went under the radar because of his idea of organising India and Pakistan series amid the Coronavirus pandemic to raise funds. The World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev went strictly against Akhtar. He commented that India doesn’t need the money and it is not worth taking the risk of the life of players. Now, Akhtar, in his new statement, expressed that former Indian captain has mistaken his speech.
In the wake of coronavirus, governments across the countries have lockdown their states to curb the spread of the virus. The lockdown has affected the economy of all the affected countries, including India and Pakistan. So, for raising funds for the aid, Akhtar recommended hosting a cricket series between India and Pakistan which gets the most attention of the public of both countries.

But Kapil disagreed with the former speedster’s statement. He said that there is no need to put a player’s health at risk. He, further, said that India is self-sufficient to help the public.
Shoaib Akhtar Responds To Kapil Dev’s statement:
Akhtar feels that India’s World Cup-winning skipper didn’t understand the perspective with which he proposed the series.

“I don’t think Kapil Dev understood what I was trying to say. Everyone is going to be trapped economically. This is the time to put our heads together and generate revenues. I’m talking about the larger perspective, about economic reforms. The global audience would be hooked by one single match, it will generate revenues.
“Kapil said he doesn’t need the money and he surely doesn’t. But everyone else does. I think this suggestion will come into consideration soon,” he said while speaking to Aaj Tak.
Earlier, Former Pakistan cricketer has appealed to the Indian government to give 10,000 ventilators to Pakistan. He was heavily trolled for his request by fans on social media.
