Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer has been in the limelight for a couple of months after he led his franchise to the playoffs of IPL 12. An impressive young batsman, Shreyas Iyer led his troops brilliantly during the recently concluded IPL. He received enough guidance from two of the best captains Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly. Both played a big part as Delhi Capitals almost pulled off their maiden IPL title.
The IPL has been done and dusted for two weeks now and the international players are currently busy with their respective World Cup squads. Shreyas Iyer who is not part of the Indian team will be cheering for his nation in the showpiece event from the sidelines. Meanwhile, Shreyas in a recent video shared on his Instagram handle shared his experience of having a ‘fire pan’.
In the video shared by Shreyas Iyer, a sweet pan on fire was put inside Iyer’s mouth by the panwala and it looked Iyer enjoyed it. However, he gave a sarcastic caption reading, “The worst pan ever which made me speechless.”
Coming back to his cricketing career, Shreyas Iyer is still around the international radar and might make a comeback for India pretty soon. He has played a few ODI’s and was part of the Indian ODI team which toured South Africa early last year. However, he has been dropped ever since and hasn’t managed to break into the squad.
As an analyst myself, I certainly felt that Iyer could have been the perfect option for the No 4 spot. He is a stylish batsman and also has the ability to play the big shots on a consistent basis which is one of the major criteria of today’s cricket.
