Since his debut in 2017, the 25-year old has played 18 ODIs where he has collected 748 runs at an average of 49.86. He has also eight ODI half-centuries to his name.
In T20Is, he has scored 417 runs, which includes two half-centuries, in 22 matches at an average of 27.80.

During an interactive session with fans on Twitter, Shreyas Iyer was asked about his Test ambition. The player said that he is eagerly waiting to don the Test jersey for India.
“It is the ultimate test. It’s every cricketer’s dream to play Test cricket. I’m eagerly waiting for my opportunity to represent my country in whites also.”
Many cricket pundits have opined that the way Shreyas Iyer is playing, he might replace someone in the middle order in India’s Test team by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, he also gave some more interesting answers. He picked Zaheer Khan as his all-time favourite Indian bowler and Jemimah Rodrigues as the favourite women cricketer. He also labelled Indian captain Virat Kohli as relentless.
The Mumbai cricketer also said that Sachin Tendulkar, AB de Villiers, Kevin Pietersen, Kohli and Rohit Sharma are his role model.
