At the age of 17, Smriti Mandhana made the debut for India women’s national cricket team. Since then, she has never missed a chance to impress with her swashbuckling innings. She has been named in both ICC Women’s ODI and T20I team of 2019.

Smriti Mandhana uncountable contribution

The 23-year-old batter’s contribution in leading the team to victory is uncountable. Smriti Mandhana is in the Top 10 in the list of Women’s ODI and T20I rankings. In 2018, BCCI named her as the best international cricketer (women). In December 2018, ICC awarded Smriti with the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Award for the best female cricketer of the year. She was also named the ODI Player of the Year by the ICC in the same year.

Smriti has played 51 ODIs and 66 T20Is and scored 4 centuries in the ODI. She also played a couple of Test matches for India. The opening batswoman continues to impress everyone with her outstanding innings. She has now added one more achievement in his feather as Smriti included in both the ICC’s ODI and T20 teams of the year.

Shikha Pandey, Jhulan Goswami and Poonam Yadav are the other Indian women cricketers who are included in the ODI team. Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav are named in the T20I side.

The captaincy of both the formats has been handed over to the Australian cricketer Meg Lanning. Wicketkeeping task is given to Alyssa Healy in both ODI and T20I teams. The allrounder Ellyse Perry, one of the best cricketers in the game, has been named in both the formats. The 29-year-old has played 112 ODIs and 111 T20Is and eight Tests.
