Indian batsman Suresh Raina faced huge criticism on the social media for supporting JNU students’ union president Kanhaiya Kumar.
On 5th March 2016, Suresh Raina had posted his view on his official facebook page when Kanhaiya was giving an interview in an Indian television channel NDTV. Raina had posted, “#kanhaiya on @ndtv right now… Beauty!!! Can just feel the honesty in every word..Respect him true fighter and honest man salute you”.

After that post, he received more than 1,000 angry emoji on his post along with various negative comments. Many cricket fans stated on his post that they could not respect Raina as an Indian cricketer anymore.
The criticism did not only stay on facebook, but that also reached into another popular social media platform twitter. Some of the Indians abused him and called him a Pakistani, a freak, a traitor, an anti-national etc.
