Some Top English Players To Miss The Early English Summer Due To IPL 2019

A total of eight English players will miss the start of the new English summer due to their participation in the IPL 2019.

On Monday (11th March), the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the English players’ availability for the opening month of the new English domestic season.

The last season’s (2018) County Championship winner Surrey will begin the domestic season with the traditional four-day match against MCC XI. That match will start on 24th March at the ICC Global Cricket Academy (Dubai).

The County Championship will begin on 5th April. On the opening day, Stuart Broad‘s Nottinghamshire and Joe Root‘s Yorkshire will face each other at Trent Bridge. Many first and second division teams will start their new County Championship journey on 5th April.

In the opening month, there will be two rounds in the County Championship. The second round of the 2019 County Championship will begin on 11th April.

On the other hand, the 2019 Royal London One-Day Cup will begin on 17th April.

Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, David Willey, Sam Billings, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Sam Curran, and Joe Denly will miss the initial periods of the new domestic season due to their involvement in IPL 2019. IPL 2019 is set to begin on 23rd March.

In the upcoming IPL season, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes will play for Rajasthan Royals (RR) while Sam Curran will be making his IPL debut this year for Kings XI Punjab, David Willey and Sam Billings will serve for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Meanwhile, Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, and Joe Denly will be busy to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) respectively.

England will face a busy international schedule in 2019 season

The upcoming 2019 season will be the busy and hectic season for the England cricket team. They will begin the season on 3rd May with the only ODI against the host Ireland at The Village.

On 5th May, England will play only T20I against Pakistan at Cardiff. After then, England and Pakistan will play the five-match ODI series in England from 8th May to 19th May.

Soon after this ODI series, the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup will begin. England and Wales will host the 12th edition of ODI Cricket World Cup from 30th May to 14th July. Ten top teams will participate in this competition. The host side England will play the opening match of the tournament against South Africa on 30th May at The Oval (London).

England will play their first Test in the new season against Ireland at the Lord’s (London). That Test match will begin on 24th July.

Then, the host side England and the visiting team Australia will involve in The Ashes 2019. The five-match Test series will be played between 1st August and 16th September. This series will also be a part of the inaugural 2019–21 ICC World Test Championship.
