After impressively starting the ODI career, the 23-year-old right-handed batsman Janneman Malan has been added in the South African ODI squad for the upcoming tour in India.

The Cricket South Africa (CSA) has already announced the strong 15-member ODI squad for the upcoming India tour. However, the selectors have been impressed very much with the performances of recently ODI debutant Janneman Malan during the home ODI series against Australia.
The board revealed this decision during the third and final game of the home ODI series against Australia. The 16-member South African ODI side will leave their country for India on Sunday (8th March) morning.

Janneman Malan’s early story: Golden duck on ODI debut; match-winning century in the next ODI
Janneman Malan, who played two T20Is in early 2019, made his ODI debut during the opening game of the recent three-match home ODI series against Australia. Though coming to bat as an opener, he scored a golden duck in that game, Malan hit a brilliant match-winning century in the next game of that series. Chasing down the 272 runs target, the right-handed batsman scored 129 not out off 139 balls (7 fours and 4 sixes).
While South Africa played their last ODI of that series on Saturday (7th March) at Potchefstroom, opener Malan provided a good start at the chasing but lost his wicket after scoring 23 runs. However, South Africa won all the matches of that series as they won that series by 3-0.
