ToggleOn the crucial day of Group B in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, South Africa Women and England Women have secured their places for the semi-finals.
South Africa Women vs Pakistan Women
After winning the toss, South Africa Women’s captain Dane van Niekerk decided to bat first. While the Proteas team scored 136/6 (20 overs), they restricted Pakistan Women to 119/5 (20 overs) and won by 17 runs.
Both the South African openers, Lizelle Lee (4) and Dane van Niekerk (3) lost their wickets cheaply. While Mignon du Preez scored 17 runs, Marizanne Kapp played the fighting knock of 31 runs.
Coming to bat at the no.5 position, Laura Wolvaardt controlled that innings from the one side while there was no solid help from the other sides. The 20-year-old Wolvaardt hit her second T20I fifty and remained not out on 53 runs off 38 balls (8 fours).

Among the Pakistan Women bowlers, the right-arm medium pacer Diana Baig (2/19) took two wickets and the all other four bowlers got one wicket each.
Chasing down that target, only the skipper Javeria Khan and Aliya Riaz managed to reach the 20-run mark, but the Pakistan Women hardly showed aggressive batting performances. While the opener Javeria Khan scored 31 runs, Aliya Riaz only had the 100+ strike-rate in that innings as she was unbeaten on 39 runs off 32 balls.

Though none of the South Africa Women bowlers managed to take more than one wicket in the second innings, they mostly bowled in the tight lines.
England Women vs West Indies Women
In their final Group Stage match of this competition, England Women beat West Indies Women by 46 runs. The English captain Heather Knight decided to bat first after winning the toss. While England Women scored 143/5 (20 overs), they bowled out their opposition for just 97 runs (17.1 overs).
Though the opener Tammy Beaumont (0) was dismissed on the fourth ball of the match, Danni Wyatt and the in-form Natalie Sciver handled that early situation with 50 runs partnership for the second wicket. While Wyatt scored 29 runs, Sciver continued her batting and scored her third half-century in this tournament (played fourth game). The right-handed batter Sciver played the knock of 57 runs off 56 balls (6 fours).

At the end of that innings, Amy Jones (23 not out off 13 balls) and Katherine Brunt (10 not out off 4 balls) played some crucial cameos.
In reply, apart from Lee-Ann Kirb (20), all other Caribbean cricketers failed to reach the 20-run mark. Captain Stafanie Taylor was retired hurt on 15 runs off 18 balls due to serious groin injury. She was rushed to the hospital for scans, and it made herself unavailable for the rest of the game, which hugely affected her side.
Among the England Women bowlers, Sophie Ecclestone picked up three wickets and had the bowling figures of 3.1-1-7-3. Also, Sarah Glenn (2/16) took two wickets.
