Most centuries by debutant batsman in a calendar year – Total 2 debutant ODI batsmen (KL Rahul from India and Temba Bavuma from South Africa) hit centuries in 2016, which is the highest no. of centuries by debutant batsman in a calendar year in ODI cricket. Before this year, there were no incidents where more than one debutant ODI batsman hit a century in a calendar year.
Highest total when only 5 bowlers used – During the only ODI between South Africa and Ireland at Benoni, South Africa had made 354/5 in 50 overs after batting first. Total 5 bowlers had bowled in that South Africa innings for which it is the highest ODI total by a team when the opponent used only 5 bowlers. The previous highest was 333/9 by England against Sri Lanka at Taunton on 11th June 1983.
