Most consecutive matches missed for a team between two appearances – After making an international comeback in the 1st Test between Bangladesh and England (2-match Test series) at Chittagong, England cricketer Gareth Batty registered his name into record books. Batty missed 142 consecutive Test between two games which is the new record for missing most consecutive Test matches for a team between appearances. Before 20th October 2016, Batty last time had played a Test match against Bangladesh at Chester-le-Street which ended on 5th June 2005.

The previous record holder of missing most consecutive Test matches for a team between two appearances was Martin Bicknell (missed 114 consecutive Tests).
