Most run-scorer in a calendar year as a wicketkeeper-batsman – On the day 3 of the 1st Test between Bangladesh and England (2-match Test series) at Chittagong, England wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow became the most runs scorer in a calendar year as a Test wicketkeeper-batsman. Bairstow broke Zimbabwean wicketkeeper-batsman Andy Flower’s 1,045-runs record (2000), which was the previous most runs by a Test wicketkeeper-batsman in a calendar year. In 2016, Bairstow scored 1,470 runs.
