  1. Michael Hussey – Murali Vijay – 1367 runs:

The pair was instrumental in Chennai Super Kings’ 2011 IPL triumph as time and again, they provided the team with rock solid starts at the top. The two complimented each other quite well and were pretty similar in their approaches. Elegance in batting was one common aspect between the duo, as the righty-lefty combination was a headache for the bowlers. Beginning their tryst as the openers of CSK in the 2010 edition of CLT20, they continued doing so till 2013, before they were released by the franchise. With an average of 40.2 in 35 innings, the duo were among the finest opening pairs the format has ever seen. Their most iconic performance together came during the 2011 IPL final, when they decimated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowlers, putting up 159 for the first wicket in just 14.5 overs.
