Ireland survived from the loss in a 5-match ODI series by winning the final ODI match at Belfast on Tuesday. Afghanistan sent Ireland to bat first after winning the toss. Ireland scored 265/5 in 50 overs.
In reply, Afghanistan finally fell 12 runs short of the Ireland’s total as the visitors (Afghanistan) only managed to score 253/9 in 50 overs.
With this win, Ireland levelled the 5-match ODI series by 2-2. The first ODI was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain. Then Afghanistan won the 2nd (by 39 runs) and 4th ODI (by 79 runs) while the hosts, Ireland, earned a victory in the 3rd (by 6 wickets) and 5th ODI (by 12 runs) of the series.
