The other 4 Test captains to achieve this feat were: Brian Lara (West Indies, 5 times), Michael Clarke (Australia, 4 times), Graeme Smith (South Africa, 4 times) and Don Bradman (Australia, 4 times).
iii) It was the 4 successive Test series where Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored double-century. It was the first time ever a batsman has scored double-centuries in more than 3 successive Test series. Former Indian batsman Rahul Dravid and legendary Australian batsman Sir Donald Bradman had hit double-centuries in 3 successive Test series.
iv) It was the third Test double-centuries by a skipper against Bangladesh. The two other Test double-centuries as a captain against Bangladesh were: 232 by Graeme Smith (South Africa) at Chittagong in 2008 and 202 by Stephen Fleming (New Zealand) at Chittagong in 2004.
v) It was the second Test double-century by an Indian batsman against Bangladesh. Indian legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar was the first Indian to hit a Test double-century against Bangladesh and that was at Dhaka in 2004 where Sachin remained unbeaten on 248 runs.

- Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha hit a great century as he scored an unbeaten 106 runs. It was the first ever Test century by an Indian wicketkeeper-batsman against Bangladesh. The previous highest Test innings score by an Indian wicketkeeper-batsman against Bangladesh was 89 by MS Dhoni at Dhaka in 2010.
Also it was the 2nd Test century for Wriddhiman Saha and both were as a wicketkeeper-batsman. Saha became the 5th Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to score more than one Test century. The other four Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to achieve this feat are: MS Dhoni (6 Test centuries), Farokh Engineer (2 Test centuries), Syed Kirmani (2 Test centuries) and Budhi Kunderan (2 Test centuries).
- Indian batsmen Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane put a brilliant 222-runs partnership for the 4th wicket. It is the third highest 4th wicket Test partnership for any team against Bangladesh.
