On Day 3 of the historic one-off Test between India-Bangladesh at Hyderabad, the visitors fought back after a top-order failure. They began the day on their overnight score of 41/1 but then lost quick wickets. However, gritty knocks from Shakib Al Hasan, Mehedi Hasan and skipper Mushfiqur Rahim helped them end the day at 322/6.
At stumps on Day 3, Bangladesh still trail by 365 runs.

- Bangladesh’s left-handed batsman Shakib Al Hasan played a superb 82-run knock. It was the 2nd highest individual score in a Test innings by a left-handed Bangladesh batsman against India. The highest in this list is 151 by Tamim Iqbal at Dhaka in 2010.
- Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim put on a fighting 107-run partnership for the 5th wicket. It was Bangladesh’s second highest 5th wicket Test partnership against India. The record is the 115-run partnership between Mohammad Ashraful and Aftab Ahmed at Chittagong in 2004.
Also, this 107-run partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim was Bangladesh’s 4th 100+ Test partnership for any wicket against India. The other 3 are: 115 between Mohammad Ashraful and Aftab Ahmed for 5th wicket (at Chittagong in 2004), 108 between Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim for 7th wicket (at Chittagong in 2010) and 200 between Tamim Iqbal and Junaid Siddique for 2nd wicket (at Dhaka in 2010).
- Bangladesh skipper and wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim scored a brilliant half-century. At the end of the day, Rahim remained not out on 81, first ever Test half-century by a Bangladesh captain against India. The previous best was just 37 by Habibul Bashar at Chittagong in 2007.
Also it was the second 50+ score in a Test innings by a Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman against India. Mushfiqur Rahim himself was the first batsman to achieve that feat as he scored 101 at Chittagong in 2010.
- At stumps, Bangladesh made 322/6, their third highest total in a Test innings against India. The top two in this list are: 400 at Dhaka in 2000 and 333 at Chittagong in 2004.
- At stumps on Day 3, total three Bangladeshi batsmen scored 50+ runs (Shakib Al Hasan 82, Mushfiqur Rahim 81* and Mehedi Hasan Miraz 51*) in their first innings. It was the first time ever where more than two Bangladeshi batsmen scored 50+ runs in a Test innings against India and the 6th time when 2 or more Bangladeshi batsmen scored 50+ runs in a Test innings against India.
- Bangladesh earned 13 runs from leg byes, most runs earned from leg byes in a Test innings by Bangladesh against India. Previous highest was 9 at Fatullah in 2015.
