The veteran Indian and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) middle-order batsman Suresh Raina has recently revealed his favourite moment in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Actually, it is the season of the IPL tournament. Since its inauguration in 2008, the IPL was always organised in this moment of every year till 2019.
The IPL 2020 was also initially scheduled in this period as the tournament would run from 29th March to 24th May 2020. But the novel COVID-19 or coronavirus is creating the hindrance for this tournament as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been forced to postpone the IPL 2020 due to this deadly virus.
While the cricket has been stopped in the present crisis moment, just like the other global sports, the cricketers are connecting with the fans through social media sites. Just recently, the CSK cricketers have started to reveal their favourite IPL moments on the social media accounts along with passing on this “Yellow Love” baton to another CSK teammate. Former CSK opener Matthew Hayden started this campaign, and he passed it to the long-time CSK member Suresh Raina.
Suresh Raina’s favourite IPL moment was Matthew Hayden’s outstanding 93 runs with the mongoose bat
In his short video, Raina revealed his favourite IPL moment which was Hayden’s incredible 93 runs with the unique mongoose bat against Delhi Daredevils (DD) during IPL 2010. Arun Jaitley Stadium or Feroz Shah Kotla (Delhi) hosted that 11th game of the IPL 2010 on 19th March 2010, where Raina led the CSK team in the absence of the regular captain MS Dhoni.
In that game, the hosts Delhi Daredevils decided to bat first after winning the toss and scored 185/6 (20 overs). Chasing down that competitive target, Hayden smashed the home bowlers with the small size mongoose bat and scored 93 runs off just 43 balls (9 fours and seven sixes). After his dismissal, Raina (49*) safely guided the team to the five-wicket victory in the final overs (190/5 in 19.1 overs). Raina also mentioned that it was not an easy pitch for batting.
Raina also revealed that Hayden gave him that bat with an autograph. At the end of this video, Raina passed on this “Yellow Love” baton to the Proteas star Faf du Plessis.
