A T20I return was definitely on the cards with some fringe players like Shivam Dube, Vijay Shankar, Kedar Jadhav, and Washington Sundar failing almost regularly. Even the constant failures of Manish Pandey, Shreyas Iyer, and Krunal Pandya hurt India as they could have been looking for someone who has his expertise in T20I.
