Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has thanked Punjab Police after they arrested three members of the gang that allegedly murdered his uncle and attacked other members last month. However, Police are still to arrest 11 other members of the gang who have escaped.
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Wednesday informed that the police had arrested three members of the gang. Earlier, Raina through twitter had urged for an investigation and had described the incident as ‘beyond horrible’.
The attack was allegedly a case of robbery and took place in Thariyal village in Punjab’s Pathankot district on the intervening night of August 19 and 20. Raina’s uncle, Ashok Kumar, had died on the spot, while Kumar’s son, Kaushal, succumbed to injuries on August 31. Kumar’s wife, Asha Rani, is in hospital and her health condition is critical, according to PTI. Two others injured in the attack were discharged.

Punjab Director General of Police Dinkar Gupta informed that they are further investigation to capture the other 11 absconders.
“Efforts are being made to capture them as well,” Dinkar Gupta said.
Suresh Raina said that police were doing the job and also thanked the chief minister for their help. He had also visited his uncle’s house on Wednesday.
“The police are doing a good job,” he said. “I thank the chief minister for helping us,” Raina said.
Suresh Raina opted out of IPL 2020:

Suresh Raina had also pulled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 tournament citing personal reasons. But he took this decision after 13 personnel, including two players, tested positive of the COVID-19 in CSK Camp. He had hinted that he might return to UAE and join CSK but the franchise has not taken any such decision.
He had also retired from international cricket last month soon after MS Dhoni proclaimed his announcement.
