During this game in the BPL 2019, Rangpur Riders were sent to bat first. After the opener Chris Gayle (2) lost his wicket cheaply, another opener Alex Hales and Rilee Rossouw not only controlled that innings with their dominating 174 runs partnership for the second wicket, both of them also registered their centuries in that innings.

Hales scored 100 runs off just 48 balls (11 fours and five sixes), and Rossouw was also unbeaten on 100 runs off 51 balls (8 fours and 6 sixes).

After Riders scored 239/4 (20 overs), Vikings only managed to reply with 167/8 (20 overs).
