This time Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were in the victim side while Bhuvneshwar Kumar-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) openers created this history. After RCB won the toss in this IPL 2019 match, the SRH openers wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow and David Warner set up the large partnership, and both recorded their respective centuries.

After they built up the 185 runs opening partnership, while Bairstow scored 114 runs off 56 balls (12 fours and seven sixes), Warner smashed 100 not out off 55 balls (5 fours and five sixes).

Thanks to the openers, the SRH team scored 231/2 (20 overs). Later, they bowled out the RCB team for just 113 runs (in 19.5 overs).
