Vijay Shankar was fortunate enough to get the chance in the World Cup 2019 squad, but destiny has altogether a different plan as he got injured in between the tournament which led to his ouster.
Now, the all-rounder is sweating hard in a domestic fold to earn the place.
In the mega event, he took a wicket with his first ball, in a bid to become the third player to do so at a World Cup event. He was the surprise package for that tournament and again he can be one of the surprises in the T20 World Cup 2020 scheduled for October, in Australia.
