India’s power-play specialist Washington Sundar was chosen over Ravindra Jadeja in the recently-held T20I match against Sri Lanka. He is a trusted bowler as whenever the Indian skipper needs a wicket in field restricted overs, the ball is handed over to him.
Notably, he has fulfilled the need of the hour. In that game, he picked the wicket of promising-looking Avishka Fernando, giving a breakthrough to the team.
Sundar has played 20 T20 international matches for India. Though the spinner has not got many chances to show his batting skill. In domestic matches, he has scored runs, scoring 703 in 66 T20 matches. He will surely be considered as an option as the all-rounder.
