- Before this Florida series, India and West Indies met only once against each other in T20I at outside World T20. That was at Port of Spain on 4th June 2011, where India clinched a victory over West Indies by 16 runs.
- On 4th June 2011 at Port of Spain, there were no batsmen hit half-centuries in that T20I match between West Indies and India. Till the date, that was the only T20I match between India and West Indies where no batsmen (from both teams) hit half-centuries in the whole T20I match.
- Winning the T20I matches by chasing down the targets, every time the winning margin was by 7 wickets. It happened thrice till the date where West Indies won twice and India won only once.
