- Duck
Duck is also a common term of cricket which is used on two occasions.
a) When a batsman is dismissed without scoring a run (0 runs), then it is called that the batsman is dismissed on a duck. It is believed that the name of “Duck” came from the shape of the batsman’s run score ‘0’ which is very similar to duck’s egg.
b) When a batsman inclines in the front of a bouncer for safety, it is called referred via a phrase batsman ducks the bouncer.

Both are the very common terms in the world cricket.
