The Indian national cricket team will end the ongoing international cricket season (2019/20) with the three-match home ODI series against South Africa.
India and South Africa will play this upcoming ODI series from 12th to 18th March. It is also likely to be India’s last ODI series before the beginning of the 2020–22 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, which will also be played as the direct qualifiers for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Due to workload management, some regular Indian cricketers can take rest from this upcoming season-ending ODI series. To providing the rest in this series, the BCCI can also consider those players who will tour to Bangladesh to represent the Asia XI against World XI in the two-match special T20I series. This special T20I series has been scheduled on 21st and 22nd March.
Moreover, the IPL 2020 will begin soon from 29th March 2020. So, the upcoming home ODI series will be the perfect time for some regular Indian cricketers to take rest from the game.
Mohammed Shami

The right-arm fast bowler Mohammed Shami is currently the best pacer of the Indian team. He is performing consistently in every format. Though he has got some rests in recent times, another short rest can be useful for him.
Moreover, it will be a good opportunity for the Indian team to check the other new pacers properly. At present, the team has some good quality pacers who are on the bench. So, it will be a good opportunity for them to showcase their talents in ODI cricket.
