We always talk and concentrate upon the time spent by batsman on the crease in Test format, but today we look at batsmen who have spent most time on the crease in shortest format of the game in this year till now:

 

Virat Kohli kiss

Virat Kohli – The batting sensation of India and the Test captain Virat Kohli tops the list of players who have spent the most time on the crease in the year 2016 till now in T20I matches. The stylish batsmen have spent 639 minutes on the crease in 13 T20Is he has played till now. Along with it, he is also the highest run scorer in 2016 till now. The Delhiite has scored 325 runs which include 7 half centuries. Virat has been in sensational form till now in the shortest format of the game. Who can forget his heroics in this year’s IPL as the batsman went on to score more than 900 runs including 4 centuries.

Sabbir Rahman – The Bangladeshi batsman Sabbir Rahman surely is a surprise in this list as the right-hand batsman has spent 522 minutes on the crease which is around 9 hours of the day. During this, he has faced 363 balls and has scored 463 runs at a strike rate of 127.54. This also includes 13 sixes and 46 fours. He scored 147 runs during the T20 World Cup 2016 played in India earlier this year.

Kane Williamson – The kiwi batsman Kane Williamson, who is the new crop of the new generation of the batsman, has spent 403 minutes on the crease in 10 T20Is he has played till now. In these ten innings, Kane has scored 383 runs at an average of 47.87 which shows the class of the batsman. He was the captain of New Zealand team that proceeded to the semi-finals of the T20 World cup 2016.

Rohit Sharma – The Indian opener Rohit Sharma is placed at the fourth spot in this list as the Mumbaikar has spent 384 minutes on the crease in 16 matches he has played this year till now. He has batted with an average of 26.56 at a strike rate of 124.26. In 16 matches he has played, he has managed the highest score of 83 runs against Bangladesh in Asia cup.

Tilakratene Dilshan – The Sri Lankan opener Tilakratene Dilshan too features in the list as the Lankan batsman has batted for 366 minutes this year in 12 contests he has participated in. Dilshan has scored 294 runs at an average of 29.40 with a strike rate of 119.02. He has only smashed 35 fours and 6 sixes this year. His numbers surely tell that he has not been in his best of the form till now.

Tamim Iqbal – Tamim Iqbal the Bangladeshi opener features in this list which is a big achievement for him and his country. The left-handed opener has spent 363 minutes on the crease and he has been able to score 368 runs during his stay at the crease. He has batted with a healthy average of 40.88. This year is probably the best year for him as he became the first Bangladeshi batsman to score a century in T20 format. Tamim scored a century against Oman in the T20 World cup 2016.

Noor Ali Zadran – The batsman from Afghanistan team Noor Ali Zadran too features in this list. He has just played 8 T20Is matches till now and in that he has spent 357 minutes on the crease till now. The Afghan batsman has scored 196 runs till now with a strike rate of 103.15 which is surely on a lower side. This was a good year for his team as the Afghanistan team went on to defeat the T20 World cup winner West Indies which is a big achievement for them.

In 14 matches played by Chandimal, the wicket-keeper batsman has scored 311 runs at an average of 22.21 with the mere strike rate of 103.32. Surely the numbers show that he has not been in the best of the form this year.

Shakib Al Hasan – The Bangladeshi star all-rounder also makes it to this list despite the fact that he bats lower down the order. The all-rounder has spent 328 minutes on the crease in 16 matches he has played in this year. During this, he has scored 260 runs at an average of 23.63. He has also contributed with the ball as the left-handed bowler has 20 wickets until this time of the year.

Sarkar has played 16 T20I matches this year till now in which he spent 323 minutes on the crease scoring 255 runs at s poor average of 15.93 at a strike rate of 106.69. The number surely tells that he has not been successful this year so far but yes has been able to stick his foot on the crease for long which is the reason why he makes it to this list.
