9. HANSIE CRONJE (SA) – 86 WICKETS 
After an initial impressive performance in the domestic arena, Hansie Cronje finally made his debut in the international cricket at the 1992 World Cup in Sydney against a mighty Australia. He went on to earn the vice-captaincy of the South African team at a very young age but with added responsibility his contribution to South Africa both as a batsman and a bowler became way bigger. By 1996 he managed to establish the South African team into one of the most feared and respected teams of that era. During his captaincy, South Africa even enjoyed a long streak of victories and achievements. But the infamous match Fixing Scandal during India tour led Hansie Cronje’s tragic downfall and it’s still considered as the biggest scandal in cricket history.
