Virat Kohli (India) – 183 against Pakistan at Dhaka on 18th March 2012

It was the must-win game for the Indian team in the Asia Cup 2012 where they faced their arch-rivals Pakistan. After Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first, they managed the first innings total of 329/6 (50 overs), thanks to the twin centuries by their openers Mohammad Hafeez (105) and Nasir Jamshed (112).
Chasing down that target, India lost the opener Gautam Gambhir (0) on the second ball of that innings. But then, Virat Kohli put the 133 runs partnership for the second wicket with another opener Sachin Tendulkar. After Tendulkar was dismissed on 52 runs, Kohli put another giant 172 runs partnership for the third wicket along with Rohit Sharma (68 runs).
The right-handed batsman Kohli completed his century in 97 balls and scored 183 runs off 148 balls (22 fours and only six) before losing his wicket. However, India successfully reached the target in 47.5 overs after losing four wickets.
