Mushfiqur Rahim (Bangladesh) – 144 against Sri Lanka at Dubai (DSC) on 15th September 2018

It was the opening game of the Asia Cup 2018, where Bangladesh decided to bat first after winning the toss. However, the Bangladesh team were in deep trouble at the beginning of that game as they were battling on 3/2, where the opener Liton Das (0) and next batsman Shakib Al Hasan (0) were dismissed in the first over and another opener Tamim Iqbal was retired hurt in the next over.
However, the experienced wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim handled that early tough situation along with Mohammad Mithun and set up the 131 runs partnership for the third wicket. After Mithun was dismissed on 63 runs, though Bangladesh were losing their next wickets at the regular intervals, Rahim never lost his focus and hit the memorable century in 123 balls. Later, when injured Tamim heroically came to bat at the end moment of that innings, Rahim utilised that opportunity to smash the Sri Lankan bowlers.
While Rahim was dismissed on 144 runs off 150 balls (11 fours and 4 sixes), Bangladesh were all out on 261 runs (49.3 overs). Later, they bundled out the Sri Lankan team for just 124 runs in 35.2 overs.
