He had played 133 consecutive matches between 28 March 2000 and 13 February 2005.
Shaun Pollock is regarded as one of the finest all-rounders in the history of South Africa. Had he made his breakthrough with any other country, the previous statement would have crowned the former SA captain as outstanding, but the significant fact that he pushed his way to sit in the top echelons in the elite class of all-rounders from South Africa — a nation which always gifted with the tradition of giving birth to world-class all-rounders throughout its history — puts Pollock on another plane.
