Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal is an interesting wicketkeeper. In his international career, while he dropped some very comfortable chances, he also took some extraordinary catches.

This catch happened back in 2006 ICC Champions Trophy. It was the Group Stage match between Pakistan and South Africa at Mohali on 27th October 2006.

Deciding to bat first, South Africa was in big trouble at the beginning of their innings. Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal made that trouble bigger by taking a stunning catch behind the stumps. In the 10th over of that innings, Proteas opener Boeta Dippenaar failed to control a short rising delivery with the late moment of the Pakistan pacer Rao Iftikhar Anjum and provided an edge to the first slip. However, Kamran Akmal didn’t allow that for the first slip fielder as he grabbed that with a stunning dive. While Dippenaar was dismissed on 13 runs, South Africa was struggling on 27/3.
