With Mathew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist opening the innings, the opposition team already knew who will be destroying them on that day. Both powerful hitters of the cricket ball, the opposition was always under the pressure until they saw the end of this pair, they are the second best opening pair with 5372 runs from 114 innings. This pair played a key role in Australia’s 2003 and 2007 World Cup campaigns where they gave a superb starts in both of the World Cup finals.
