5. Ross Taylor

New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor played an unforgettable match-winning knock on his 27th birthday. It was the Group A match of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup between Pakistan and New Zealand at Kandy. While New Zealand mostly struggled in the first innings, Ross Taylor scored an unbeaten 131-run off 124 balls (eight fours and seven sixes) that helped New Zealand to manage 302/7 (50 overs). In the last five overs of that innings, New Zealand scored 100/2, thanks to Ross Taylor’s windy batting. Earlier, in that innings, Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal dropped some good opportunities of Ross Taylor.
In reply, Pakistan was bundled out for just 192 runs (41.4 overs) as New Zealand won that match by 110 runs.
