3. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan – 17 years and 118 days

When the leg-spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan made his Test debut at the age of 17 years and 118 days, he became the youngest Indian Test cricketer. His first Test was against West Indies at St John’s in April-May 1983. In that draw Test, the leg-spinner had the bowling figures of 25-1-95-0.

Laxman Sivaramakrishnan played only nine Tests and 16 ODIs where he managed to claim 26 and 15 wickets respectively. Sivaramakrishnan has also gained his popularity as a commentator.
