During Pakistan tour of England in 1992, three Pakistan players led the side in the 5-match ODI series against the hosts.

Javed Miandad led the Pakistan team for the first two ODIs, but he missed out in the third ODI due to an upset stomach. In the third ODI, Saleem Malik took the leadership role. However, Miandad made a comeback and led the side in the fourth ODI while Rameez Raja was the skipper in the fifth ODI in the absence of Miandad.

On the other hand, Graham Gooch led the England side in the four encounters while Alec Stewart was the England captain only for the fourth ODI. Gooch was missed out in the fourth game due to an injury.
