While cricket is now off amid coronavirus outbreak, the big cricket family is busy to reveal their favourite players and favourite playing XIs in various points of view. The 32-year-old Indian pacer Umesh Yadav has recently revealed his favourite Indian T20 XI where the right-arm pacer picked up the former Indian World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni.
Umesh Yadav made his international debut in 2010, and since then, the right-arm fast bowler has played 46 Tests, 75 ODIs and seven T20Is where he has taken 144 wickets, 106 wickets and nine wickets. While he has faced many ups and downs in the international career, he has shown incredible improvement and maturity as a pacer in recent times.
Recently, during an Instagram live chat with Sportskeeda, Umesh picked up his favourite T20 playing XI for India, among the present active players. During that session, Umesh picked up MS Dhoni though he isn’t sure whether the 38-year-old wicket-keeper wants to serve for India in future or not. In the case of absence of Dhoni, the young wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant will take this place.
Umesh told Sportskeeda, “Abhi kya bol sakte hai, unki marzi rahegi toh wo khelenge [We can’t say anything now. If MS Dhoni wants to play for India, he will play]. If MS Dhoni bhai does not play, then Rishabh Pant.”
I don’t think I am in contention for that spot: Umesh Yadav about his place in his favourite Indian T20 XI
During that team announcement, Umesh Yadav feels that he is not in the contention to take a spot in this side. In the pace bowling squad of this team, he first named Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah and then pointed out the tough fight between Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar.
Umesh Yadav’s favourite Indian T20 XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, MS Dhoni/Rishabh Pant (wk), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami/Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.
