Currently one of the in-form batsman in the ongoing IPL 9, David Warner played a rare shot on Thursday night during the IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Hyderabad.
After winning the toss, Delhi Daredevils decided to bowl first. The incident happened during the first innings when SRH batsman David Warner was facing Daredevils right arm off-spinner Jayant Yadav.
Left-handed batsman, Warner played an incredible switch hit during the 9th over of SRH innings. “Switch Hit” means a batsman changes his stance from right-hand to left-hand or vice-versa during a bowler’s run-up. On the second ball of the 8th over, the set batsman Warner, who was batting on 41 runs in 27 balls at that moment, played the ball after changing his stance from left-hand to right-hand during Jayant Yadav’s run-up. So, finally, Yadav bowled outside of leg-stump to which Warner played a late cut towards the short fine leg and picked up a single.
Later in the same over, Yadav picked up Warner’s wicket when he clean bowled him. Warner was dismissed after scoring 46 runs off 30 balls.
Warner is a consistent performer in the ongoing IPL 9. Warner is currently at the second position in the most runs scorer table of IPL 2016 as he has scored 515 runs in 11 matches with the average of 57.22. Warner already hit 5 half-centuries in this tournament.
