- Bruce Oxenford made a wrong judge in the clear view of controversial Australia-India Sydney Test
It was one of the most controversial and discussed match in the international cricket history. It was the 2nd Test match of four-Test series between Australia and India at Sydney Cricket Ground and the incident happened in the day 1.
Australian batsman Andrew Symonds totally missed playing a ball of Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble and Indian wicket-keeper MS Dhoni hit the stumps. The leg umpire referred the decision to the third umpire. In the replay, it was the very close call but at the time forwards, it was going clear that Symonds’s leg was on the air when Dhoni hit the stumps. Especially, the video was clearly shown from the back angle as Symonds was dismissed perfectly. But the third umpire Bruce Oxenford gave not out decision at the end.
The match was totally controversial as Australia won that match by 122 runs. The umpiring was really poor where most of the cases Australia received benefit.
