- How the ball hit on Khawaja’s bat?
The incident happened during the day 1 of the 3rd Test of Ashes 2013. Australian batsman Usman Khawaja went to play a ball of English spinner, Graeme Swann, later which was taken by the English wicket-keeper Matt Prior. England made an appeal which striker-end umpire gave his decision as out. However, Khawaja was looking very sure as he went for the review.
In the replay, there was clearly shown that the ball was enough away from the bat while the Hot Spot was also showing no edge on the bat. However, there was the main confusion about the sound which was not sure about the source. But the third umpire Kumar Dharmasena shockingly retained with the field umpire’s decision as it was given out at the end.
