Vinod Kambli Disagrees With Sourav Ganguly On Recent India’s Team Selections For The Upcoming Caribbean Tour
Recently, the national selectors have announced the all three formats’ Indian squads for the upcoming tour of West Indies and the USA. The former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has recently expressed his disappointment on those squad selections. However, the former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli hasn’t agreed with the former Indian captain’s view.
India’s forthcoming West Indies and the USA tour will be their first international cricket assignment after their journey in the 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. In the upcoming tour, India will play a three-match T20I series, three-match ODI series and two-match Test series against Windies.
After these squads announcement, Sourav Ganguly expressed his disappointment for not picking up some in-form players in the proper format. The former Indian captain has felt that the youngster Shubman Gill and experienced Ajinkya Rahane should get chances in the ODI squad.
Ganguly has voiced for giving consistent chances to the best players to prove themselves. He feels that more players should feature in all formats.
Vinod Kambli has a different view
However, the former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli hasn’t supported Sourav Ganguly on this point. Kambli believes that utilising the best specific players for each format will create a big pool of players.
Kambli shared Ganguly’s recent post on this matter and added his view.
He tweeted, “I believe in horses for courses. We need to choose the best players for the format & play them. It will help #TeamIndia preserve players & with the big pool of players at our disposal, the mgmt can then utilize players for bigger series. England & Australia are prime examples.”
