Left-arm seamer Ashish Nehra, who retired from International cricket, received a heart-touching farewell from his colleagues in the Indian team. However, the veteran’s farewell party continued even after India emerged victorious against New Zealand for the first time in a T20 match as the Kiwis fell short by 53 runs. Nehra remained wicketless in his quota of four overs giving away 29 runs. India is 1-0 up in the three-match series with two matches still to be played.

In the pictures that circulated throughout the internet, the 38-year-old pacer was seen partying hard with the current India skipper Virat Kohli and former teammate from the national team as well as state team Virender Sehwag. It is understood that the party took place in Delhi, where Nehra played his last ever international match. Interesting, Delhi is the native state of Nehra, where he started playing as a young cricketer.

In his last match, Nehra missed out on two opportunities to pick a wicket as Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya couldn’t grab the ball. Nehra, who career ran over a span of 18 years made his international debut in 1999, retired as the third highest wicket-taker for India in the shortest format of the game after Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah.
