From the middle of the recent New Zealand tour, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli was in the rest. Now, recently, he has announced his return to the cricket.

Virat Kohli is one of the most consistent batsmen in the modern world cricket. The 30-year-old right-handed batsman is the no.1 Test and ODI batsman at present. Even under the immense captaincy pressure, Virat Kohli is consistently sharpening his cricket skills.

In the recent past, any series that he has participated, Virat Kohli has maintained the form in his style. While he had an immense successes in last South African and England tour, he once again led the side from the front in the recently concluded Australia and New Zealand tours. His brave-hearted cricket has resulted in the better successes for India, especially in the latest Australia and New Zealand tours.

Most recently, India played the five-match ODI and subsequently three-match T20I series against the host side New Zealand. However, after the first three ODIs of that tour, Virat Kohli took the rest from that remaining tour. While India won the ODI series by 4-1, including winning the first three ODIs of that series, India lost the T20I series by 2-1.

After the crucial rest period, Virat Kohli has now returned to the cricket ground. On Friday (22 February), Virat Kohli announced his return through his official social media accounts.

He posted his two images from the practice session and wrote, “Back to work”.

India is now set to play the two-match T20I and five-match ODI series at home against Australia from 24 February to 13 March. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli has returned to the national squad for both the upcoming series.

After these series, Virat Kohli will be busy in the Indian Premier League 2019 (IPL 2019) where he will lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). However, then he has to face the real test, the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.

England and Wales will host the upcoming World Cup from 30 May to 14 July. The two-time World Cup-winning side India will begin their World Cup journey on 5 June against South Africa at Southampton.
