It doesn’t seem Gautam Gambhir, and Shahid Afridi would stop anytime soon. They’re scathing each other since on-field days, Gambhir has further taken a jibe at former Pakistan skipper and all-rounder, Afridi while hinting at his immaturity.

Earlier, Afridi in his latest autobiography – ‘Game Changer’, has criticised Gambhir which has led to the war of words over the social media.

Afridi has ten pot-shots at former Team India opener, Gambhir, however, the latter has offered assistance in seeking the help from a psychiatrist.

Afridi, who recently revealed his age, further mentioned about the infamous incident when Gambhir-Afridi had collided in the middle of the pitch during the Kanpur ODI in 2007.

But the duo was fined for their on-field tantrums.

However, in his recent response, Afridi has taken a sarcastic dig at Gambhir by saying, ‘Gambhir has a mental problem.” He added, he is ready to take Gambhir one of his hospitals.

The tirade continues:

However, on Sunday (May 5) Gambhir has hit back at Afridi during his roadshow in Delhi. The former cricketer is contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from East Delhi constituency after joining Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).

“I am sure he will sell his book better. Some people grow in an age not mentally. Shahid Afridi may be 36, 37 years old (Afridi is 39). But he is 16 mentally,” Gambhir told India Today.

Earlier, in December 2018, Gambhir has announced his retirement from cricket – to start off his new innings in politics.

Gambhir, who is known as the man of the finals, reiterated Afridi is need of psychiatric treatment. He added the Pakistani all-rounder has the mentality of 16-year-old.

Gambhir’s numbers have a weight:

While backing himself, Gambhir has represented India in 147 ODIs apart from 58 Tests and 27 Twenty20 Internationals.

The 37-year-old Gambhir remarked that his numbers are known to everyone. He added the people would decide about his contribution while representing Team India.

“My records are in open. Becoming ICC Test player of the year, winning Test series and World Cup. People will decide what I have done for the country. Some people are really mentally ill and so need psychiatrist treatment,” Gambhir added.

As things have continued to fall apart, the relationship between Gambhir and Afridi add more to the India-Pakistan rivalry
