During the first session of the Pune Test between India and South Africa, Proteas pacer Anrich Nortje bowled a bouncer to the Indian opener Mayank Agarwal that hit on his helmet and travelled to the boundary.
On Thursday (10th October), India and South Africa have started the second Test of this three-match Test series at Pune. Before this game, India are leading this series by 1-0 as they won the series opener at Visakhapatnam by 203 runs.
India decided to bat first after winning the toss on the day one morning of the ongoing Pune Test. The Indian team management made only one alteration in the playing XI as the pacer Umesh Yadav has replaced the middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari. Meanwhile, South Africa has also one change as the Test debutant pacer Anrich Nortje replaced the off-spinner Dane Piedt.

The Visakhapatnam Test hero Rohit Sharma lost his wicket cheaply on the day one morning of Pune Test. Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabada dismissed the opener Rohit (14) after the wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock grabbed his outside edge.
However, another Indian Test opener Mayank Agarwal is very solid with the bat. While Rohit lost his wicket on the 10th over, Anrich Nortje’s delivery hit Agarwal’s helmet in the very next over.
Anrich Nortje delivered a speedy bouncer to Mayank Agarwal
On 10.4 over, Test debutant Nortje delivered a fast bouncer to Agarwal. The Indian opener tried to duck but the ball hit on his top of the helmet. After hitting the helmet, the ball well surpassed the Proteas wicketkeeper and travelled to the boundary rope. Quinton de Kock and another fielder tried hard to save that ball before the boundary but they failed. Umpire gave the leg-bye sign before showing the boundary sign.
Physio soon came in the field to check Agarwal who was fine. However, Agarwal changed his helmet at that moment. In the very next ball, Agarwal hit a four with his bat.
At the lunch of day one, India are batting on 77/1. Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara are batting on 34 and 19 runs respectively.
