There is a saying in cricket that goes “catches win matches”. And if there is any credibility in it then Mumbai Indians should win their ongoing game against Delhi Daredevils.
Chasing a massive 195, Delhi Daredevils were off to a flyer. Swashbuckling Jason Roy came out all guns blazing, helping his side reach fifty in just five overs. Mustafizur Rahman then allowed Mumbai to claw their way back by dismissing Gautam Gambhir.
However, it did not bring any respite for the hosts as Rishabh Pant tore them apart. The youngster smashed 47 off just 25 deliveries to keep the chase on track.
In the meantime, Roy completed his fifty. Krunal Pandya broke the stand between Roy and Pant by dismissing the latter.
Glenn Maxwell also started in the same fashion, hitting a four and a six. But before the hard-hitting batsman could inflict further damage on Mumbai, Hardik Pandya took an absolute stunner to send him back.
Krunal bowled one outside the off and Maxwell went for the big shot over deep extra-cover. The ball was looking set to cross the boundary before Hardik Pandya, standing at long on, ran towards his left and stretched full length to complete a stunner.
Here is a clip of that stunning catch taken by Hardik Pandya:

Earlier in the game, Evin Lewis and Suryakumar Yadav’s blistering knocks fired Mumbai to 194 for seven in 20 allotted overs. They fired on all cylinders right from the start as Mumbai reached 50 in just the fourth over.
At 166 for two in the 16th over, Mumbai were looking to set for a big total. However, they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and as a result, failed to finish strongly.
