As the countdown for the ICC World Cup 2019 has begun, the preparations are in its full swing in England and Wales. Meanwhile, the world cricket governing body – International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its official song for the twelfth edition of the ODI showpiece.
On Friday (May 17), the official song has been made available across all platforms. The song ‘Stand By’ is prepared by LORYN and the famous English band – Rudimental.
Moreover, the collaborative theme song will be available on multiple streaming platforms worldwide. Pertinently, the song will be played in the stadium and across different cities of the United Kingdom on the eve of the mega ICC event.
The partnership maintained that it cherishes the diversities of the cultures in the UK.
Meanwhile, the forthcoming World Cup will begin on May 30 at Kennington Oval in London. Hosts England will face South Africa in the curtain raiser to mark the beginning of the cricketing carnival.
Besides, the mega final is slated for July 14 at the iconic Lord’s cricket ground.
‘Stand By’ is a song for the ‘common voice’ –

Meanwhile, the ten-team tournament is comprised of 48 matches. It will roughly attract billions of fans throughout the gruelling summers in the United Kingdom (UK).
Furthermore, the ICC has already extended a hand to provide ample support to the fans throughout the much-awaited quadrennial event.
The cricket’s highest body believes the ‘Stand By’ song is a practice to push fans as a ‘common voice’ while backing their respective teams.
“‘Stand By’ will be played around the world and provide a common voice for fans to show their passion,” ICC maintained in its release.
The 45-odd day tournament will see reigning champions played under the leadership of Aaron Finch. Also, the inclusion of Steven Smith and David Warner has bolstered the team.
Before the beginning of the World Cup, at least ten practice match will take place between May 24 and May 28. Each day two matches will be held before the caravan will move to London.
