The Indian players are currently busy in the three-day warm-up game during their New Zealand tour as they are preparing for the forthcoming Test series against the hosts. During the recent practice session, Mayank Agarwal was preparing in a unique way to handle the unfamiliar condition.
In this tour, while the visiting side India won the five-match T20I series by the 5-0 margin, they lost the three-match ODI series by the 3-0 margin. After completing the limited-overs series, the Indian team is now preparing for the upcoming Test series in the ongoing New Zealand tour.
They will play the two-match Test series between 21st February and 4th March 2020. Well, this Test series will be the part of 2019-21 ICC World Test Championship.
Ahead of this Test series, the Indians are busy in the three-day tour game against New Zealand XI.
In the absence of the limited-overs vice-captain and opener Rohit Sharma, Agarwal made his ODI debut in this tour.
However, he mostly failed to impress in that series as he scored 32, three and one run respectively during that series.
In the ongoing warm-up game, Agarwal only managed to score one run before getting caught behind due to a thick edge.
Later, Mayank Agarwal was seen practising and preparing in an odd way. The underarm grounded deliveries were coming to him, and he was replying with the safely grounded shots.

In the absence of experienced Rohit, Agarwal has to take a major role for the opening slot in the Indian batting line-up during the forthcoming Test series.
After making Test debut in 2018 Boxing Day Test, the opener Mayank has impressed with his batting.
The right-handed batsman was the most Test run-getter for India in the previous calendar year (2019). The Indian team management is expecting the same performances from him in the upcoming Test series.
