In the semi-final of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019/20, Gujarat captain and wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel took a remarkable reflex catch to dismiss the Tamil Nadu batsman Baba Aparajith.

On Wednesday (23rd October), Gujarat and Tamil Nadu met in the semi-final of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019/20. During that crucial game, wicketkeeper Parthiv grabbed that superb catch.

Chasing down the 178 runs target in 40 overs, Tamil Nadu lost their first two wickets in just 25 runs (25/2). Baba Aparajith was the second victim in that chase.

It was the first ball of the ninth over of that innings. Meanwhile, the left-arm spinner Axar Patel claimed that wicket on his very first ball of that match. The no.3 Tamil Nadu batsman Baba Aparajith got a thick outside edge that deflected after hitting the pad of wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel. While that ball went higher in the air after the deflection, desperate Gujarat captain grabbed that catch with a brilliant diving effort. Before that dismissal, Aparajith only scored six runs off 13 balls.

Parthiv Patel last played for India in January 2018

The 34-year-old Parthiv Patel is a very popular face in Indian cricket. He made his international debut at the age of just 17-year-old. Due to inconsistent performances, Parthiv lost his place from the national team many times but he has never given up his hope.
