Fans invading cricket pitch and interrupting the game is not a very uncommon sight nowadays in cricket. Every now and then, one sees unruly fans jumping over the fence and entering the field to meet and greet their favourite cricket stars.

And the ongoing third ODI between India and Australia was also interrupted for a while by an intruder at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. However, the intruder was not any fan but a dog. The incident took place when Kuldeep Yadav was bowling the 43rd over of the innings.

After the third ball of the over, the game was interrupted for a while when the dog came running on the field. The dog seemed to be desperate to get in on the action as he was running in all directions. The groundsmen were quick to react as they quickly chased the dog out of the field.

And as the dog found its way out of the field, few section of the fans also decided to applaud it. In the meantime, India skipper Rohit Sharma found the incident amusing as the cameras showed him laughing while the groundsmen where chasing the dog on the field.

India vs Australia, 3rd ODI update:

Talking about the game, Australia were on 261 for 9 after 48 overs in the ongoing game. This is the first time in the series that a team has managed to cross the 200-run mark. Australia were off to a good start with Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh adding 68 runs for the first wicket before Hardik Pandya picked up 3 quick wickets to leave them reeling at 85 for 3.

The series is currently locked at 1-1. India won the first game by 5 wickets before the visitors thrashed the hosts by 10 wickets in the second ODI.
