On last Thursday (12th September), the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) officially renamed the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium as Arun Jaitley Stadium. Late Arun Jaitley, who died on 24th August 2019, was the former DDCA president as well as BCCI vice-president. Under his tenure, Delhi cricket observed many improvements.

On the same night, the DDCA and BCCI inaugurated the Virat Kohli Stand. One of the stands of Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium has been named after the Indian captain. It is the special honour for Virat Kohli’s extraordinary achievements as an Indian cricketer. Many believe that Kohli is one of the greatest batsmen in international cricket history. Currently, the right-handed batsman is the no.2-ranked Test and no.1-ranked ODI batsman.
During that special night at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the host Manish Paul asked the Indian head coach Ravi Shastri what kind of songs Kohli favoured to listen. Shastri claimed that Shikhar Dhawan would answer better on this.
Virat Kohli loves Punjabi songs
In reply, Dhawan asked, “Before marriage or after marriage?”
Then, Dhawan revealed Kohli’s favourite types of songs. The Indian opener claimed that Kohli loved Punjabi songs, favoured to listen to the songs of Gurdas Maan. Dhawan further added that Kohli also liked to hear Arijit Singh’s romantic songs.
Along with the Indian team members, Kohli was present on that special night with his wife, Anushka Sharma.

The Indian national cricket team is now shifting their focus in cricket. India will now play the home series against South Africa. At first, they will play the three-match T20I series from 15th to 22nd September 2019. Later, they will be busy in the three-match Test series between 2nd and 23rd October 2019.

South Africa will come again in India in March 2020 to play a three-match ODI series.
